On July 8th, all the English Department Teachers visited Professor Yamasaki at Nagasaki Prefectural University.

　　７月８日、本校英語科のスタッフで指導力アップのため長崎県立大学の山崎教授の研究室を訪問しました。

We shared anecdotes, and ideas on how to incorporate cultural understanding into our everyday lessons.

　　山崎教授の面白いお話や日々の授業で異文化理解を取り入れるアイディアなどたくさん教えていただきました。

Professor Yamasaki, who attended University in the United States, commented on the differences between the Australian English often used at Seiwa.

アメリカの大学を卒業された山崎教授は、聖和でよく使われるオーストラリアの英語とアメリカの英語の違いについて話をしてくれました。

For example, did you know Salami and Pepperoni are the same thing??

たとえば，サラミとペパロニは同じものだとご存じでしたか。

English staff member Fiona, always thought it was strange she could never find pepperoni in her home country, Australia.

英語科のフィオナ先生は，母国のオーストラリアでペパロニを見かけないのは不思議だとずっと思っていたようです。

Similarly, Professor Yamasaki was never able to find salami when he went shopping in the states while he lived there.

同じように山崎教授もアメリカに住んでいる間サラミをスーパーで見つけることができなかったようです。
